...Reflections on our Prophet

Since finding out on Sunday about the death of our Beloved Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, I have been thinking alot about his work as prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am so thankful that he felt the need to have more Temples around the world! Having a Temple only 3 hours away, has blessed my life so much! My husband & I were able to be sealed in the Albuquerque Temple. What a blessing the Temple has been in my life!
He was an amazing man, I am in awe! He had such a great love for the church... I hope that I can teach my children to have a love for the gospel like President Hinckley did.

...You are WHAT?

So I met Nolan in town today so that we could go to lunch and so that I could go to Hobby Lobby! I had decided before I got to Nolan's office that I wanted Arby's for lunch. Ok I LOVEEEE Arby's, not really their sandwiches but I LOVEEE Arby's sauce. When I was pregnant with Olivia, I really almost drank it! So I told Nolan what I had decided and he said that it sounded good too. We pull into the drive up and the girl over the loud speaker says, " Welcome to Arby's, let me just apologize that due the holiday our Truck is a day late and we are OUT of Roast Beef, what can I get for you today?" You have got to be kidding me?! Nolan & I just looked at each other and he kindly told the girl, "Never mind, but Thank You!" We drove away and we just couldn't believe it, how do you run out of Roast Beef when that is pretty much all they sell?! That is like KFC running out of chicken! My poor husband kindly asked me what I wanted instead, lets just say this week hasn't been the best week so far, I almost broke down in tears...all I wanted was 400 packets of Arby sauce with a little Roast Beef sandwich.

I told him that I just wasn't going to eat since I couldn't have Arby's...I almost made him drive to Cortez to get me an Arby's sandwich. My luck this week they would've said the same thing! I just still don't understand how you can run out of Roast Beef...really! I don't get it! Ok so I did eat, but it didn't satisfy my hunger!

...Household FREAK!

So I have finally come to realize that after 5 years of marriage (well it will be 5 years on the 22nd of Feb.) I have OCD!! Well ok I really knew that before, but it has gotten worse since I have had Olivia! I unloaded the dishwasher this morning and much to my dismay, it was loaded WRONG(or so I thought)! There were way too many spoons grouped together and the bowls were not stacked right! Ok I know that this sounds bad, but I like the dishes to be loaded right! Nolan, bless his heart, he tries so hard but forgets in between each time his does the dishes! I like all my silverware to come out sparkling clean and not to have crustz stuck on them! I have to have the sinks wiped clean and I always wipe down the counter tops after I am done with breakfast/lunch/dinner. My family & friends know that I am the freak that wipes down the Walmart shopping cart (this ones for you Nate & Kendra)!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Clorox wipes! The are the best thing next to Coke! I am constantly picking up my house, not because it's dirty, but because I love to rearrange things and have them in their right place! But on the flip side, if you were to see my spare bedroom....it's a MESS!!! So I guess we all have our little quirks...don't go thinking I am perfect, I do have my flaws. I hate putting laundry away, after folding laundry...I put it right back in the basket and there it stays until my wonderful husband puts it away or I need the basket for another load of laundry! I just hope that I don't rub off on Olivia! I don't want her to be a FREAK too! I guess I only have 2 people to thank for this! My Mom & my sister Amanda! They both have OCD too! Thank You Ladies! Gosh it's a good thing we're family!

...New Hair Do!

I got my hair cut last week and colored! Nolan says that it is still growing on him! I cut off 1 1/2 inches off my hair! It was long, pregnancy was really good to my hair! I also colored it darker! My natural color is a dirty blonde (yuck!!) so I did it just a bit darker! I really like it, but Nolan doesn't! When he came home that night, he just looked at me with a blank stare?! So tell me what you think?!
PS. The picture might be crappy, but Nolan was at a Priesthood Meeting and I just had to work with it! Sorry!

...Funny Movie?

It seems like Nolan & I have the worst luck when it comes to renting movies! We have rented some real winners over the last 4 1/2 years of our marriage. So this weekend Nolan & I rented some movies, I made the mistake of letting him choose the movies! My husband is a little obsessed with War Movies, so of course he came out with some War Movie, "Surf's Up", and "Starter for 10". I questioned him about "Starter for 10" and he kept telling me that Tom Hanks wrote it or produced it. So that really made me want to watch this movie...yeah right! So I thought OK I'll try it and see if maybe one time he was right. This movie is based in England in 1985...(Side Note, Nolan went on his mission to England!)

This movie was weird!! WEIRD!! I pretty much just sat there with a blank stare on my face. I looked over at Nolan and we was smiling from ear to ear?! He laughed like he had never laughed before. I didn't really understand what the actors were saying let alone the humor?! WEIRD! I fell asleep, because I was so bored! This whole weekend Nolan kept saying little English phrases. While we were watching the movie he was remembering things from his mission. That I guess was worth it all. So the moral of my story...don't let your husband go and pick out movies by himself! Take your crying baby in the movie store to avoid this from happening to you!

...Thank goodness for Music

So Olivia hasn't been wanting to sleep during the day lately. She usually takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon and I am able to get a lot of stuff done! The last 4 days she hasn't wanted to sleep not at all (only at night), she just wants me to hold her. She feels fine, isn't hungry, doesn't have a dirty diaper...she just wants to be held and be able to look around! I went to lunch today with some friends and she cried the whole time she was in her car seat.Driving 20 minutes across town with a crying baby isn't fun TRUST me! So when we got home I plugged my I pod into the TV on and we rocked out. If you drove past my house, you would have thought I was crazy! But it worked, she finally feel asleep!

It must have been Will I Am's song "I Got it from my Mama"!! That is her song now! Thank You Will I Am!

...A Weekend full of favorite things

This weekend was so much fun! I kind of forced Nolan to take Friday off of work! He leaves work at noon on Fridays, so he wasn't really missing that much anyway! The joy of being Self-employed, you either love it or hate it! It depends on the day how I feel! Most of the time I love it! So we had lunch together, and then went and picked up the cradle from Dr. Boice & Sue! It was a baby gift for us that took a little longer than expected to get in! (Thanks Dr. Boice for putting it together!) But I love it so much! Olivia has done so good sleeping in it! Then we ventured out to Lowe's to look at Paint! I have this crazy idea that I want to paint my Living room! I am tired of the WHITE walls! Nolan was a little unsure about some of my suggestions , but we took a few samples to think over.

Three of my cousins were in town on their way to school up in Idaho & Utah. We got to play some games, and get in a good hardy laugh! There were almost too many Whipple girls in the room! Kaitlin & Racheal were the weirdest of all of us! Nolan & Jeremy were a little scared of what might happen! Nolan & I ended the night hangin' out at home watching TV and playing with Olivia!

Saturday morning we headed to Walmart early to get our Grocery Shopping done and came home and after 3 long years of living in my house Nolan finally fixed my bath tub(with the help of his dad)! It has been a problem since we pretty much moved in and has just never really been on our list of things to get fixed right away! But now it is! Yeah I can finally take a relaxing bath!! I am so excited!

We took an afternoon drive, it was too cold to go for a walk, so we got some hot coco and listened to Olivia cry for 20 minutes! Ok so it wasn't really that long, but she was having issues with being in her car-seat! My niece Kourtney turned 2 on Saturday, so my sister made her a cake and we had a little party for her at my parents. She was so funny she couldn't wait to eat her cake! Oh how is it to be 2!

Sunday was not a good day! We switched to 1 o'clock church and Olivia was not liking that! She didn't want to sit down, so during Sacrament I stood in the foyer the whole time! Then she was still a little fussy so we just decided to come home since I didn't have to teach Young Women's. We got home and she fell asleep as soon as I changed her clothes and diaper! Our weekend was great! It was just fun to be together as our little family of 3 and to hang out at our house! I love being home with Nolan & Olivia! There is nothing better than being home! I have so many favorite things but here are just a few from this weekend! (in no certain order)

1. Nolan & Olivia

2. My new cradle

3. A sleeping Baby

4. My new boot/slippers (they are so warm, I love Walmart)

5. The snow that is falling outside right now!
(it's amazing that snow can make weeds look so pretty)

6. Spending time with my family & Kourt's Birthday
P.S. Kaitlin I hope this picture makes up for the other one! Luv ya sis!

...Christmas & New Years! (Belated)

Christmas was great this year! I had so much fun shopping for Nolan & Olivia this year! It was great to experience Christmas this year with Olivia! Though she was to little to know anything that went on, it was still wonderful! We started partying early this year, as we do every year. Nolan's family has a Santa Party with the Flack Family, we eat Mexican food, sing songs and then Santa comes! Santa brings each little kid a present and they get to sit on Santa's lap! Olivia slept while Santa was holding her (whew!), the food was great and it was fun to see people that we don't get to see that often.

Christmas Eve we went to the Annual Guillory Progressive Dinner and froozzeee!! Then we went back to my parents house (Grandma & Grandpa Whipples) and opened our Christmas pj's! My dad is an E-Bay FREAK!! and got a little carried away with the pj's this year! It was lots of fun to open up and see what we got! Then it was off to bed and waiting for Santa to come! Nolan & I got up early and exchange our gifts and to get ready for a busy day! Nolan was good, too good to me this year and bought me an Ipod Touch (I-touch), which totally suprised me! I am kind of a gadget freak and like wierd things! I was soo soo excited! Nolan got lots of clothes from me and the Sixth Season of the Beloved Show 24!! He was stoked! Then off to his parents to open presents...then off to open presents with the rest of the Guillorys! You just thought we were done....then off to open presents at my parents house and a little time to take a nap! Oh we love NAPS!! Let's just say that our day was very busy and Olivia was such a good girl going to house to house to house! It's really hard when both of your families live in the same town! But we are so thankful to have them so close!

The day after Christmas I got a text at 6:30am from my brother-in-law Jeremy telling me that
my sister Amanda had her baby! Baby Andrew was born at 4:30 am and he is a little cutie! Olivia all of the sudden looks like BABY MONSTER next to him! She went to the Dr. for her 2 month check up and to get her shots (ouch!) she weighed in at 10 lbs 14 oz! She is growing soooo fast!

Since Nolan & I have been married we have attended or held a New Years Eve Party! This year is was kind of a flop(not really)! All of our friends were out of town or too busy! But we managed to still have a good time with the Roundy's ! They are a great couple and Shanna & I go WAY back! We have known each other FOR-EV-ER! We opened Christmas crackers (they are little packages that you open and they have a crown, toy and a really pathetic joke inside)! We had a lot of fun reading the jokes to each other and playing with our little toys! Oh did I mention that we had a TON of food!

New Years day we ate lunch at my parents house and I shared leftover crowns with my nieces & nephew! We enjoyed some delicious Turkey Noodle Soup, good Football games and a good laugh or two! I love this time of year because Nolan is forced to take off work and we get to spend time with our families!

My little sis is quite the weirdo! I love you Kaitlin!

Ok so is Nolan, but I love him too!

I have given up on setting New Year resolutions, because I never keep them!

But I am going to accomplish some things this year!

1. Be a better wife, mother, daughter/inlaw & sister
(I am already the best Aunt that ever lived!!)

2. Read my scriptures & pray more

3. Limit my Old Navy purchases (yeah right Nolan you wish)

4. Get into those skinny jeans! (oh wait I never had any)

5.Chug a gallon of milk without puking :) ok no really be healthy

GOOD LUCK WITH ALL YOUR NEW YEAR PROMISES! (RESOLUTIONS)

...It's Fixed!!

So Nolan finally got our computer fixed! I feel like a whole new woman!! Ok so like $400 later, it's DONE!! Just keep your fingers crossed that we don't have anymore problems, or else I really will break down and by a new computer! So I am trying to download all my pictures from Christmas and New Years Day...just bare with me! Bad news though...our FREE preview of DIY channel was taken away today! I love that channel! I have this secret love affair with Bob Villa! Except I think my father-in-law is his half brother! He is amazing! My father-in-law that is! Bob Villa is too! Norm Abram is pretty freakin awesome too! How pathetic am I? So as soon as I get all my pictures downloaded I will post about Christmas and New Years! How fun! Our 5th Anniversary is coming up! February 22nd! I keep telling Nolan that the 5th Anniversary is the DIAMOND Anniversary! Yeah Right!
