... My Free Me Time

... Since my free time is coming to an end soon, I am making the most of it! I have been sewing! It is a stress reliever for me. While Sweet Pea naps I am able to listen to my music and sew!

...So here's to the last few months of my "me" time and free time!

... FINALLY DONE

... Nolan & I have been working for a month on cleaning out our spare bedroom and getting it ready to paint for a new BIG Girl Room for Sweet Pea! Once it was cleaned Nolan & I painted it, and hung he bead board. More painting and caulking and caulking and painting and it is finally done! We hung the blinds and curtains last night and I cleaned the floor this morning. We are now ready to move in her BIG Girl Bed and accessorize!! Eventually Baby Girl #2 will be moving in with Sweet Pea and it will be a little girls haven!!

(* We couldn't have done it without the help of our sisters and parents for watching Sweet Pea!)

... A Bed for Sweet Pea

... After a lot of sweat and elbow grease, Sweet Pea's bed is finally done! The quilt fits perfectly and looks great! With the help of my mom I made a pillow sham and some throw pillows. Sweet Pea has been doing so good in her "Big Bed". We have had a few rough nights, but for the most part it's great!

... Nolan's Masterpiece

... 1 year ago I told Nolan that I wanted this bed from Ikea. So what did he do? He built it! We made it a little ,ok a lot taller than the original, but we are tall people! I am in LOVE with my bed (and Nolan too)!

... Now onto side tables & paint! Any ideas (Jessie P.)?

***It didn't take him a year to build this, it just took us that long to finally get around to doing it!

... My New BFF

...IS SPRAY PAINT!!

... I have never really been a big Spray painter! It's messy and stinks! But after seeing what some creative people can do with a can of spray paint, I was sold!! Here is what I've been busy doing (besides sniffing it)...

...I bought a new shower curtain for Sweet Pea's bathroom, but didn't want to spend the money on buying a new soap dispenser, tooth brush holder and trash can. So I sprayed painted what I already had!! I am not the best at it, but practice makes perfect!!

...I recently found some Decorative Wood Plaques at Big Lots. They had 2 white and 1 black. I bought them for $8.00 a piece thinking I would use them as is, somehow! I then got the brillant idea to spray paint them all the same color!! So that is what I did!

...Now if my lil sis doesn't come and get these BEA-U-TI-FUL bead-board frames out of my garage, I am claiming them and they will be spray painted!

... My Projects

... I am trying to become more like Martha and learn new things! So since my mom has the summer's off I decided I would enlist her help in my crazy ideas! Nolan & I have plans to switch Sweet Pea to a "Big Girl" bed in the next 3-4 months. I started pricing out bedding and the little cute toddler beds and I was in shock! So having a tight budget I started looking at making my own bedding. I found the cutest fabric at Hobby Lobby, but the price wasn't so cute! At $12.99 a yd I was better off just buying something from Target. So I waited for a 40% off coupon and ending up paying $26.00 for 3 yards of fabric! My mom then helped me quilt it and bind it. It was a learning experience and I am so ready to do it again!

Here it is in all it's imperfect glory...

...I still didn't have a solution for a headboard though! I then remembered that when my parents moved into their house (it's really old family house and used to be the town Post office) there was an old metal headboard & footboard!! My parents for some reason didn't throw it away with all the other junk! I was excited! It was exactly what I wanted and fit perfectly into Sweet Pea's room decor! So then the question was do I re-finish it or do I leave it as is?

... I decided to strip the old paint off. I didn't know if it had lead in it, which it most likely did. I am still not finished with it, but I am so excited to see the progress!!

Now onto crafting something else...

PS. My mom made a quilt and wants to "name" her quilt. She is giving away a prize for the winner! So go vote!
