... Touch the Truck

... We decided that our last few weekends as a family of 3 needed to be spent relaxing, playing, and spending lots of time with Sweet Pea! Being such a lover of trucks, airplanes and tractors (she is still a girly-girl) we took Sweet Pea to a local event called "Touch the Truck". It cost us 3 cans of non perishable food and about an hour of our time! Local companies came and brought their equipment for the kids to look at, touch and even climb on! I was for sure that Sweet Pea would EAT this up! We saw lots of Oil Field equipment, Cranes, Fire Trucks, the Hospital Helicoptor , a Mail Truck, Police Cars, Bomb Squad van, even the Frito Lay man! Nolan and I
loved it, Sweet Pea not so much. Since the kids were able to touch the trucks as much as they wanted, there were some over excited kids that could not keep their fingers off the Fire Truck Siren!! Sweet Pea was a little freaked to say the least! She wouldn't get off of Nolan's shoulders!

... Well we tried, maybe next year?!

...Shaving Cream Fun

... Since we are Potty Training this week I needed fun activities that would keep Sweet Pea busy and inside. I remembered that we used to clean our desks at school with shaving cream and how fun it was! So I to the dollar store I went! Nolan came home just in time to join us in the fun! It started out very nice and clean and ended up messy! Sweet Pea loved it!

... And of course she ended up eating some of it!

... A Sweet Surprise

... A few days before Christmas Nolan & I were able to find out what Baby #2 was. We both didn't care either way, boy or girl. As soon as the tech squirted that nasty stuff all over my belly, our little one was spread eagle and we knew right away...

ANOTHER GIRL!!!

(Profile)

... I have studied and studied that ultrasound making sure that we didn't miss something. From the picture it looks like there might be something there?! But he checked at least 4-5 times and it's a GIRL!! We are excited to be staying in this lovely world of Dolls, Barbies, Bows, Pink, and DRAMA!! We wouldn't have it any other way! Sweet Pea will make a great Big Sis when she finally comes to terms that her world is going to be rocked in a few short months! She is sort of in denial!

... Learned Behavior

... Sweet Pea has taken an interest in the "Potty" lately. I don't feel she (ok, we) are ready for that just yet. I try not to discourage her when she asks to go sit on the potty. A few weeks ago she asked to sit and go potty, so being the good parents we are (try to be) we put her up there. Nolan called me to come and look and this is what we found...

... A Naked 2 year old reading a book on the toilet! Just Great!

* Just for the record, we do NOT do this at our house! She had to have learned it from Grandma, Grandpa or Aunts or Uncles?! Anyone want to fess up? Manda, KK?

...Nose's aren't just for blowing

... While I sat at my computer this morning watching the Season Finale of Top Chef, Sweet Pea came into me and had a face full of boogers. I wiped her nose and told her I was almost done and we would get in the shower soon. Not 2 seconds later she was telling me again, "Mommy, nose boogers!". I wiped again and sent her on her way. I could hear her in the living room having a sneezing fit. She sneezed 1, 2, 3...6 times in a row. I didn't think too much of it, because we have had dusty boxes with Christmas decorations around the house lately. So time for the shower! (Yes, Sweet Pea takes showers with me. It saves water, time and my energy and well she loves it!) While we are in the shower her nose was getting more and more nasty. I just figured it was the hot water letting loose all those boogers.
I am shampooing my hair and rinsing it out when I open my eyes I notice a HUGE booger sticking out of Sweet Pea's nose. So of course the mother in me, grabs it. This is no ordinary booger. It was very plasticy feeling?! So I rinse it off and find...

...It is a piece from a Wal-mart/ Target sack. Lesson learned today... Noses aren't just for blowing, they are also putting foreign objects in?!

Oh Sweet Pea!

*****Melanie, Thank you for bringing that up! I was that Whipple child! I swallowed a quarter when I was 8 years old! So of course I knew better! But after talking to my mom, when she was little, she stuck a button up her nose! So I guess it does run in the family!"******

... Sweet Pea-isms

... Now that Sweet Pea is starting to talk more and put words together, there hasn't been a dull moment in the Sassy Stewart House! Here are just a few things that she has recently said that are too funny (well to us) not to share

... When she wants me she will YELL, "Mommy! COME HERE!"

... Every piece of clothing or fabric we pass in the store she will reach out to touch and say, " So cute!"

... I was scoping out toys for her upcoming birthday and when we walked down the Doll/Barbie aisle she said, "Oh cool!"

... I was folding laundry a few days ago and she had to tell me who the piece of clothing belonged to, "Daddy's!" as I was hanging up his work shirts. When I was folding my p.j's she would tell me " Mommy's!" I then started hanging up my shirts and folding my jeans and she said they were KK's. Obviously she must never see me in anything but p.j's!

... When she tells some one bye, she also adds in "Seeulter" (See you Later, it all runs together). She will say this over and over again! It is very funny!

... She has been learning names and the only names that you can understand clearly are Drew-Drew(Andrew), Papa, Daddy, Mommy, KK (Aunt Kaitlin), sometimes Lex, and Kourt. When you ask her what her name is she will just point at her chest. She will NOT say her name, most of the time all we get out of her is "Me!"

... She announces to the entire world when she has done her business! Nolan is very proud of this one!

We love our little Sweet Pea! Nolan and I are continually laughing at the things she does and the things she says!

... Cooking with Sweet Pea

... Nolan decided that we need a treat after FHE. I was game for Dairy Queen, but he wanted something better ( I personally don't know what's better than Ice Cream). He tied my apron on Sweet Pea and they made brownies! Nolan put her on a chair, handed her a spoon and she was like an old pro! She stirred and stirred the crisco and then licked it (nasty)! She wasn't quite sure about licking the batter, which is the best part, but after one licked she was hooked! She was such a good help to Nolan!

...It's a good thing that Santa is bringing her this for Christmas!

... A Hair-cut for Sweet Pea

... Sweet Pea's hair has been looking quite mullet-ish for a while now, I just didn't want to cut it! Finally I gave up and gave it a good trim. She was loving the fact that she could sit and stare at herself in the big mirror in my bathroom. Here are a few Before and Afters! Her little "Bob" makes her look so much older!

Before...

After...

So it may not look like that much difference, but trust me it is!

... Walk like a Penguin

... Sweet Pea has a new found love for putting clothes on over clothes! She will try and put on her swimsuit over the outfit she is wearing for the day. She loves pulling Nolan's socks out of the dirty clothes and putting them on her feet. But the funniest thing she has done thus far is to put a swim diaper on! She did pretty good considering she isn't quite 2! She got both legs in 1 hole and walked around the house like a little penguin! The funniest thing was, I would call her into another room and I could hear her waddling into me! I couldn't help but laugh!

...Camping with Sweet Pea

(Cardboard cut out of a Tent at the Park we were at)
(picture taken w/ my phone)
...For Father's Day weekend we decided to go Camping in Durango. It was a very relaxing trip filled with Good Food, Card Games, a nap here and there and GREAT company! I could live in the mountains, as long as Walmart or Target was within a reasonable driving time! Sweet Pea was, as always FUN! She had her moments of boycotting naps or not wanting to eat anything but "cany"(candy) . All in all she was quite hilarious! Here are just a few moments I was able to catch on camera...

(waving at a Camper(s) coming in the park)

...We are getting packed up to go again in a week! Oh we love Summer!

...And She's done it again

... Last month I took Sweet Pea to Amber to have her picture taken. Little did I know that day was going to be a rough day. She did not want anything to do with sitting still, the camera, snacks I was offering or even the funny faces I was making. I was a little (okay alot) disappointed when I left thinking that I was #1. Going to give Sweet Pea away to the first taker or #2 Just try again. When Amber called to tell me the pictures were ready I almost wanted to laugh. I could only imagine what they looked like. Sweet Pea screaming & throwing herself all over Amber's beautiful back drops and props. Fitting, very fitting! I was so surprised when Amber showed me these...

...She not only managed to capture Sweet Pea and her little Sassy self (see above picture), but She also captured that Sweet Little face that I love so much! Amber, Thanks for putting up with the Sassy Stewart Girls!
Look at her web-site for more!!

PS. I'm not giving her away anymore...she's all MINE!!

We are on Day 2 with no "Bink"! She is getting so big...I wish she would stay this way forever!
