... Once a Big Sister

... Always a Big Sister! Back in May, I had the chance to watch my niece Lexi for the day. Her parents went to Albuquerque early that morning and she had a water day at Preschool that she wanted to attend. Nolan & I were planning on going to Albuquerque later in the day, so we agreed to take her to school, pick her up from school and bring her to Albuquerque to her parents. No biggie right?! Well Lexi arrived at our house bright & early in the morning 5AM early!! I am not a morning person, but I will do whatever it takes for my nieces & nephews. So we layed in bed and watched cartoons till I "woke" up. When I was finally awake I found this...

...What is it you ask? A detailed letter (aka instructions) from Amanda telling me about what to do with Lexi. The letter was no surprise to me, well because #1 Amanda has OCD, #2 Sometimes I need to be told things more than once, #3 Amanda has OCD and finally Amanda has OCD!! I laughed about it, and followed her instructions one by one. I have saved the letter waiting for the perfect opportunity to get her back! Nolan & I are headed to Albuquerque today to attend the Temple with his cousin Carson, who is going on a mission. It so happened that he is going on my Birthday!! Perfect chance to spend a night away minus our Sweet Pea thanks to my lovely sister Amanda!!

While I was packing Sweet Pea's bag, I remembered Amanda's letter and made a funny version of my own! Here it is...

...It's a good thing my family was born with a sense of humor! Love ya Amanda and Thanks for taking care of our Sweet Pea!

You think you're so funny don't you?! Freakin Hilarious!!!!! Just because I am an overprotective mom and have OCD doesn't mean you have to publicly mock me. You punk! It's a good thing I love. Hope you have a fun trip sis.

I can feel the love! Where's the note giving permission for medical treatment? Yeah, you are hilarious, but in Amanda's defense, her OCD is sorta inherited. We prefer to think of it as "being prepared"!

ha ha sounds like something I would do to my sister if she was OCD but she is anything but that. Have fun at the Temple we miss it so much.

I am dying! Mostly because I can totally see myself leaving a letter like that! I swore I would never do that as a parent, but who am I kidding, as soon as I had Crew I didn't even know who I was anymore! I turned into everything I said I wouldn't.

Amanda, maybe you and I could both seek help for our OCD-ness. :-)

You guys are too funny. I love your note Megan I just laughed out loud and had to explain to my coworkers why I was laughing so hard. I think the ER note was my favorite.

Okay so I have to admit I leave notes for my mom and mother in law all the time. I kinda quit doing it to my mother in law because she called me neurotic...I can't help it! I just want to make sure every topic and every possible scenario is covered! So I am afraid I am like Amanda on this one....good to know I'm not the only crazy mom out there.

I am not surprised by Amanda...that sounds just like her!!

I guess I should shut my mouth...I see my self being like that the first time I leave Ben on an over nighter!!!

I love your get back at her letter! That was great!

This is a funny post! I love your letter back, Classic.

We are totally hoping for a girl but really we just want it to be healthy and to make it all the way. Kyesun said its going to be a boy and that I will have a million boys before I have a girl. So not the case. this is our last!
