... FINALLY DONE

... Nolan & I have been working for a month on cleaning out our spare bedroom and getting it ready to paint for a new BIG Girl Room for Sweet Pea! Once it was cleaned Nolan & I painted it, and hung he bead board. More painting and caulking and caulking and painting and it is finally done! We hung the blinds and curtains last night and I cleaned the floor this morning. We are now ready to move in her BIG Girl Bed and accessorize!! Eventually Baby Girl #2 will be moving in with Sweet Pea and it will be a little girls haven!!

(* We couldn't have done it without the help of our sisters and parents for watching Sweet Pea!)

... Cooking with Sweet Pea

... Nolan decided that we need a treat after FHE. I was game for Dairy Queen, but he wanted something better ( I personally don't know what's better than Ice Cream). He tied my apron on Sweet Pea and they made brownies! Nolan put her on a chair, handed her a spoon and she was like an old pro! She stirred and stirred the crisco and then licked it (nasty)! She wasn't quite sure about licking the batter, which is the best part, but after one licked she was hooked! She was such a good help to Nolan!

...It's a good thing that Santa is bringing her this for Christmas!

... My New BFF

...IS SPRAY PAINT!!

... I have never really been a big Spray painter! It's messy and stinks! But after seeing what some creative people can do with a can of spray paint, I was sold!! Here is what I've been busy doing (besides sniffing it)...

...I bought a new shower curtain for Sweet Pea's bathroom, but didn't want to spend the money on buying a new soap dispenser, tooth brush holder and trash can. So I sprayed painted what I already had!! I am not the best at it, but practice makes perfect!!

BEFORE...

AFTER...

...I recently found some Decorative Wood Plaques at Big Lots. They had 2 white and 1 black. I bought them for $8.00 a piece thinking I would use them as is, somehow! I then got the brillant idea to spray paint them all the same color!! So that is what I did!

AFTER...

...Now if my lil sis doesn't come and get these BEA-U-TI-FUL bead-board frames out of my garage, I am claiming them and they will be spray painted!

... My Projects

... I am trying to become more like Martha and learn new things! So since my mom has the summer's off I decided I would enlist her help in my crazy ideas! Nolan & I have plans to switch Sweet Pea to a "Big Girl" bed in the next 3-4 months. I started pricing out bedding and the little cute toddler beds and I was in shock! So having a tight budget I started looking at making my own bedding. I found the cutest fabric at Hobby Lobby, but the price wasn't so cute! At $12.99 a yd I was better off just buying something from Target. So I waited for a 40% off coupon and ending up paying $26.00 for 3 yards of fabric! My mom then helped me quilt it and bind it. It was a learning experience and I am so ready to do it again!

Here it is in all it's imperfect glory...

...I still didn't have a solution for a headboard though! I then remembered that when my parents moved into their house (it's really old family house and used to be the town Post office) there was an old metal headboard & footboard!! My parents for some reason didn't throw it away with all the other junk! I was excited! It was exactly what I wanted and fit perfectly into Sweet Pea's room decor! So then the question was do I re-finish it or do I leave it as is?

... I decided to strip the old paint off. I didn't know if it had lead in it, which it most likely did. I am still not finished with it, but I am so excited to see the progress!!

Now onto crafting something else...

PS. My mom made a quilt and wants to "name" her quilt. She is giving away a prize for the winner! So go vote!

... Once a Big Sister

... Always a Big Sister! Back in May, I had the chance to watch my niece Lexi for the day. Her parents went to Albuquerque early that morning and she had a water day at Preschool that she wanted to attend. Nolan & I were planning on going to Albuquerque later in the day, so we agreed to take her to school, pick her up from school and bring her to Albuquerque to her parents. No biggie right?! Well Lexi arrived at our house bright & early in the morning 5AM early!! I am not a morning person, but I will do whatever it takes for my nieces & nephews. So we layed in bed and watched cartoons till I "woke" up. When I was finally awake I found this...

...What is it you ask? A detailed letter (aka instructions) from Amanda telling me about what to do with Lexi. The letter was no surprise to me, well because #1 Amanda has OCD, #2 Sometimes I need to be told things more than once, #3 Amanda has OCD and finally Amanda has OCD!! I laughed about it, and followed her instructions one by one. I have saved the letter waiting for the perfect opportunity to get her back! Nolan & I are headed to Albuquerque today to attend the Temple with his cousin Carson, who is going on a mission. It so happened that he is going on my Birthday!! Perfect chance to spend a night away minus our Sweet Pea thanks to my lovely sister Amanda!!

While I was packing Sweet Pea's bag, I remembered Amanda's letter and made a funny version of my own! Here it is...

...It's a good thing my family was born with a sense of humor! Love ya Amanda and Thanks for taking care of our Sweet Pea!

...Camping with Sweet Pea

(Cardboard cut out of a Tent at the Park we were at)
(picture taken w/ my phone)
...For Father's Day weekend we decided to go Camping in Durango. It was a very relaxing trip filled with Good Food, Card Games, a nap here and there and GREAT company! I could live in the mountains, as long as Walmart or Target was within a reasonable driving time! Sweet Pea was, as always FUN! She had her moments of boycotting naps or not wanting to eat anything but "cany"(candy) . All in all she was quite hilarious! Here are just a few moments I was able to catch on camera...

(waving at a Camper(s) coming in the park)

...We are getting packed up to go again in a week! Oh we love Summer!

...Where have you been all my life?

(...Found at your local Walmart!)

...And She's done it again

... Last month I took Sweet Pea to Amber to have her picture taken. Little did I know that day was going to be a rough day. She did not want anything to do with sitting still, the camera, snacks I was offering or even the funny faces I was making. I was a little (okay alot) disappointed when I left thinking that I was #1. Going to give Sweet Pea away to the first taker or #2 Just try again. When Amber called to tell me the pictures were ready I almost wanted to laugh. I could only imagine what they looked like. Sweet Pea screaming & throwing herself all over Amber's beautiful back drops and props. Fitting, very fitting! I was so surprised when Amber showed me these...

...She not only managed to capture Sweet Pea and her little Sassy self (see above picture), but She also captured that Sweet Little face that I love so much! Amber, Thanks for putting up with the Sassy Stewart Girls!
Look at her web-site for more!!

PS. I'm not giving her away anymore...she's all MINE!!
